I can't wait...

Okay, okay I know....too long. So sorry. I could give excuses about a new computer, new camera, not understanding how to do pictures but I digress. I will try my hardest to be more faithful. Today I have no pics but hopefully soon. I was working hard on a blog of the month of January when Doug's parents came to visit. That will have to come later. I know it is good to just write. It gets intimidating when there are people like Lovella, who always has such an artsy blog with her cool pics and stuff. I know that is not what this blog stuff is about so I will not try to be intimidated.

It has been interesting times these last few weeks. Hard times with our church here...long story, another blog. Then to speak with my dad and sense that he is not doing well and in the end buying a ticket to go home in April for three weeks has been a bit of a whirlwind for me. I can't wait to go home but I am sad for the circumstances. My dad is not sick per say, besides the fact that he had bypass surgery and has diabetes he is doing not bad overall. He just turned 79 this month and when I phoned him for his birthday he didn't seem himself. I had been wondering for a while if I needed to make a trip home and after my phone call I knew it was time. Doug was so gracious in telling me I needed to go...knowing he would have to take care of the girls by himself for three weeks. We are still in the midst of mounds of paperwork so it is just impossible for us to take the girls out of the country at this point. Hopefully in December we will all travel together to spend Christmas with family. I am so thankful that I can go and am looking forward to so many things. I thought I would give you a little list so you can laugh, or be reminded to not take some things for granted...

  • I can't wait to see my family.
  • I can't wait to see my girlfriends. If one thing I have learned good friends are hard to find, especially when you get older, so I don't take mine for granted. I really miss having someone to really talk to, someone who gets me. I am sure there will be a few all nighters when I get home. Love you girls, you know who you are.
  • I can't wait to go shopping with said girlfriends. Oh to find regular sized clothes again. Don't even get me started on underwear. There are just too many places to name but I hope to hit as many as possible. Right now Walmart will be heaven for me. Now with two little girlies to shop for it could get a little out of control...
  • I was thinking of listing all the food I have been missing but suffice it to say I am hoping to lose a few pounds before I get home...to make up for all the eating I will be doing when I get there.
  • I can't wait to use a clothes dryer. The fact that I don't have to wait for my clothes to dry on the line will be heaven.
  • I can't wait for spring in the valley. To see mountains, ocean, lakes. Really is there a more beautiful place?
  • I can't wait to worship in english. I almost always shed a few tears the first time I am in church when we come home.

Well, that is part of my list for now. It is getting late and I need to get to bed. Thanks for the friendly reminders to get my but in gear. Thanks also to all the bloggers that are so faithful in writing and encourage me time and time again with their blogs.

Buenos noches.

First of all, blogging is not a competition, my friend. It is supposed to be fun for all involved. It's a great outlet, a great way to stay in touch and a great way to get to know new people.

Second, I am SOOOO excited for you to come back and pull those all nighters. :) We will eat like queens and shop like nobody's business.

Thirdly (just because my favorite number is 3), you are awesome and I'm so glad we're friends.

Happy Mother's Day, Lea. I hope you have a wonderful day and that you feel celebrated (once you get home, that is). I had such a great time with you and again, I'm sorry I didn't see you as much as I'd have liked. :( Love you!

I just noticed that this was written Last year, so I don't know if you still check for comments. I just wanted to let you know that I so much read the samee feelings in you as I do in my daughter's who is a missionary in Indonesia.
May God continue to give you all you need and encourage your heart in a special way.

Hi again!
Veronica's mom is my husband's older sister. So, yes, Veronica is my niece (through marriage). Now I kind of know where your connect. I think one of Steve's brothers used to work for us in the flooring business. Can't remember the name now. The last name is the same as my maiden name, but we won't go there. We may actully be related yet!! Just kidding.
